Cool Green Deal

Young people improve the climate with unique jobs

The Cool Green Deal is a project that aims to give young people a counterbalance to concerns about the environment and jobs, by getting them involved in a concrete environmental project and through their efforts creating green jobs with employment opportunities for other young people and themselves.

Ungdomar räddar världen

Cool roofing is one of several, but the most important of our described new methods for the inclusion and integration of young people in the development of society! The focus is on empowering young people to participate in concrete actions locally, regionally and globally to curb global warming! The method we are working with, painting roofs, is well established in the USA, Canada, China and other countries and more and more companies are now opening up in Europe with this approach, creating new green jobs.

The company Cool Roof France, based in Normandy and operating throughout France, will contribute outside this project budget with its long-standing knowledge and expertise in the execution of cool roofing carbon offsetting roof surfaces.

Young people create green jobs in Sweden

The jobs created by our identified roofs and other suitable painting surfaces for Cool Roofing provide the opportunity to recruit young adults who are far from the labour market with the aim of moving them towards permanent employment through training and apprenticeships.

Two companies with significant recruitment needs that will follow the project estimate their recruitment needs at 100 new jobs each in the area of roof renovation and rust/fire protection.

The craftsmanship of Cool Roofing roofing is very similar to rustproofing and fireproofing painting, so this training combination is deemed to work very well.

Young people protect animal species

In collaboration with Kretslopp och Vatten i Göteborgs stad and Göteborg Energi, Sätt färg på Göteborg will design environmental signs and environmental loops among the more than 17,000 electrical cabinets and power stations in Gothenburg. A completed design with originals focusing on endangered marine life has been produced for a first sub-project in the Gamlestaden district.

In collaboration with WWF, the World Wildlife Fund, young people will design painted messages that focus specifically on endangered species. The paintings are also designed to encourage physical activity among children and young people rather than sedentary behaviour.
